
Financial Manager
- At least 15 years of experience in financial management, with a proven track record of leading a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Chartered Accountant (CA), CIMA, or equivalent certification
Jones & Wagener is a leading consulting engineering firm with a strong focus on excellence. We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Manager to join the team and lead the financial department to new heights. The incumbent will be based at our Rivonia Office.
The key responsibilities associated with the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead, manage, and motivate a finance team of 12 staff members.
- Oversee daily financial operations, ensuring full compliance with local regulations, international standards (including King and IFRS), and company policies.
- Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management.
- Provide strategic financial analysis and decision support to the executive team.
- Implement and manage financial systems, including Proman, SAGE payroll, SAP Ariba, and Coupa.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the preparation and submission of financial reports.
- Maintain strong internal controls and continuously improve financial processes to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Review and implement cost control measures and financial strategies to maximise profitability.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the financial team, ensuring continuous professional development.
- Review and approve payroll transactions, ensuring compliance and accuracy before final processing.
- High degree of self-motivation and ambition
- Collaborate with key business leaders to provide financial insights for strategic decision-making
- Be accountable for liaising with external auditors during the year-end audit, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial records and addressing any audit queries or concerns
Preference to candidates with the following skills and attributes:
- At least 15 years of in financial management, with a demonstrated track record of successfully leading and developing finance teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional certification such as Chartered Accountant (CA), CIMA, or an equivalent certification
- Knowledge of Proman, SAGE payroll, SAP Ariba, and Coupa would be advantageous.
- In-depth understanding of financial management principles and practices.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive financial performance and implement financial strategies.
- High level of proficiency with financial software and systems.
- Experience with Consulting Engineering Firms is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
